Hi Vel_Crow (clever name btw), it looks like you've got a pretty good start on your character but I thought I'd post a few observations. The profile shot is the most telling in terms of what areas need more focus...right now his face is too flat and too closely aligned to the y-axis. You have the same thing going on with the neck...it looks more like a column, but adding some curvature will help give it a more living/organic feel. You might also want to work on getting the eyes to fit more naturally into their sockets.
Your alien is coming along nicely so be sure to keep us posted with updates.

yea i always have problems with putting eyes in,
what i tend to do is make a hole in the mesh ( as you can see in one side of the first pic ) then creat a shere, cut it in half and then try to get it to fit in the hole.......an then it just gets more difficult when i try to create the eye lids.....
ive had a look at some tutorials, but they dont make much sense

Its a good start. I would say it is still a little too angular to be believable as an organic character. To remedy this, you may find it useful to select vertices of angular areas and use the Tighten command (Don't overdo it though - and be careful with vertices along the edge of a virtual mirror).
As for the face itself, All the facial features seem to be in the front inch of the alien's face. Extending the eye socket/cheekbone back along the negative z-axis might produce the effect you are aiming for. Similarly, creating a series of circular edge loops around the eyeball with the creation of two distinct two eye lids in mind might help with the eye area.
I like the proportions that you used in the alien - makes it very distinguishable character. Can't wait to see it finished.
