View Full Version : Selection Bug (Possible driver issues)
Has anybody else had issues with the most recent nVidia drivers causing some display issues? It doesn't seem to be card specific, since I get the same issue on at least 3 seperate machines, each with a different nVidia card. The main problem is that during the mini selection dialogue that pops up when you click on two or more objects in close proximity instead of keeping the current item selected in the drop-down menu hightlighted gold, it will flash gold initially and then just remain black. This is a serious pain if there are more than 2 or 3 objects being listed. I can deal with it..but I'd rather not.
Anybody have a solution other than the obvious workaround of digging up some older drivers? A different OpenGL acceleration type?

I have Rhino 3 SR 4 release candidate 1 at the moment, and everything is fine. The item remains yellow as long as I keep the mouse over it in the menu. Regardless of whether I choose Windows or OpenGL in Display wireframe viewports. Also, I have only Use hardware driver display modes, with Hardware Acceleration (fast) - 00, in Open GL options.
I've got Nvidia 71.89 driver.
So, what service pack do you have? SR 4 was released to the newsgroup a couple of days ago.

yes i have the same problem!
It is extreemly annoying. I used to not be able to stand it but then i learnt how to use the ctrl shift and alt keys in conjunction with selecting. I posted what i learnt in Post your tips and shortcuts here!!! (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=243928)
I would love to know how to fix it but in the meantime that may just have to do
I have a nvidia geforce 6600 if that is on any assistance

3 SR 3, I'll have to look into getting 4.
I think I'll fiddle with my wireframe rendering configuration and see if anything happens.

It is a problem with the graphics driver. I had the same issue, I updated the drivers and everything was fine. I do not know if you can do anything else than changing the version of the drivers.
