I don't think this is possible, for now.
I'm hoping they will add selecting to the undo list as well. It's such a pain when you are almost done with your long selection, then you lose it because you clicked on something you didn't want to.

On that last point I find that if I shift click it deselects it.
This should probably be under the wishlist, but it would be great to see a "loop" or "ring" poly edge select type tool/method for selecting edges. Could save some real time, IMO.

Not a perfect solution, but once you have all the edges selected the first time, duplicate them and move the duplicates to a new layer, then you could quickly grab all those by selecting everything on that layer. Might be more trouble than its worth unless its a really big group of edges you'll want selected over and over.

ooops, I meant something more clicking on something you didn't want to such as a button, or accidentally clicked something without holding shift.

Hi people,
I had the same problem and theres a neat solution:
Marco Traverso has written a nice little plugin to create selection and visibility sets!
Its available for FREE here:

hope that helps

This is extremely useful, but yes, it would be nice if it worked on subobjects.

Maybe the best thing would be to ask Marco Traverso directly (marco@marcotraverso.it) if such a thing would be possible. He might like the idea :)
