Ive been a freq Lurker here at CG but this forum has made me want to post..so thanks
Im more of a modeler wanabe than anything.
Here is the knife ive been working on.

Hey really nice knife model there RandC - you've pretty much nailed your reference image. One thing I would say is that it is a bit let down by the stand that it is sitting on - other than that, great stuff.

Neil what would you suggest for a stand,the one that its on was just for a quick render.

I think you should design a stand that matches the aesthetics of the knife itself. If you can create a stand that looks as ornate as the knife it would look cool. I would tone it down slightly however so it doesn't steal the scene from the knife itself.

One other way is by not having a stand at all - perhaps have it laying on an alter cloth or something similar. Keep up the good work! :)
