View Full Version : flipping an edge in Wings 3d
s0me0ne 07-04-2005, 08:09 PM I'm trying to flip an edge in Wings 3d but cant figure out how. Guess I'm too used to how Milkshape works.
See the attached image, right now vertex 2 and 4 are an edge, I'd like to have it "flip" the edge and make the edge go along 1 and 3
(yes the model sux but I'm still a n00b)

Edge | Turn
If you enable Advanced menus (Edit > Prefs), you'll have 2 options for the command.

Ok I turned on the Adv. menu under preferences, then went into edge mode and selected the edge, right clicked and I'm not getting that option
I dont know if its a bug in the verison I'm using or what but the option is not showing up for TURN
I'm using the "stable" verison 0.98.29b

Which 'option' are you referring to?
The Edge | Turn command itself - or the RMB option for this command - which will only show up in the edge menu after Adv. Menus have been enabled.
It's certainly there in /29b ... have just tried it.
If you're still having no luck, de-install /29b, delete the prefs file and re-install - maybe even try 98.31 (got some nice new ttools - like bend)?
Default hoteky is T, btw - so you could maybe try that as well?

Edit
If still having problems, some details re platform / OS etc might be useful...

Why that has it's own little thing and isn't a part of advanced menus is beyond me.

<< Why >>
Not sure, but seem to recollect it being something to do with free-ing up T for those ppl (not interested in lo-poly stuff partic.) that wanted to assign it to something else other than TEedge (was initially hard coded).

Hmm, I also didn't know that this was in Wings. But it doesn't really do the same thing that Spin Edge does in other modelers. Of course, it flips the edge, but it feels kinda... strange.
