My name is Albert(o) and I'm a CG amateur. I discovered Wings3d at the beginning of this year and with great pleasure I started to learn it. The documentation is invaluable and the puzzledpaul's turorials (http://www.geocities.com/paulthepuzzles/aardvarks.html) very instructive. The idea of modeling a human face came pretty soon. The first attempts were simply nonsense. My sister, who is a painter, lend me a couple of books on drawing faces and human figure and a book on anatomy. At that time I started to frequent CGTalk. I found this forum a wonderful place, which pushed me all the time to get better results. This forum is a place full of valuable information (little bit scattered, I have to say) from where you can learn a lot.
Comments and critics would be greatly appreciated

It's not bad, yet something doesn't seem quite right (probably has to do with the shape of the nose and ears. Getting more distance to reduce perspective distortion couldn't hurt either.) A view of the low poly mesh showing the edges will help in pointing out what the problems are. You might have a "good" mesh, in which case it's just a matter of tweaking verts to fill out the shape better.

Thank you for the comments.

Good point. Unfortunately, the problem is not with the perspective. The ear is too flat and I have to fix that. Tomorrow I'll post some meshes.

That's one neat mesh. :D
The ears are the biggest problem right now, that's for sure. Need to be thicker, and further from the head.
Besides that, the whole eye to mouth area looks like it's lying too deep into the head, compared to the forehead. This gives her some of an alien-like look. (The fact that her chin is very slim, and her forehead isn't adds to this.)
This might also be because she hasn't got hair, but maybe some tweaking on the shape of her head would lose the idea that "something isn't quite right".
Besides this, very nice model!

Hi Eckie.
Thanks for the critics. :)
I'm not shure about the eye to mouth area you're refering to, by looking at the side view (but have to say that I'm still unsatisfied with the lips). However I agree with your objection on the chin. Thanks to pointing me that mistake.
I'm working in another face but this time I'm trying to expreiment with some changes in the edge flow.

Here is a work in progress.

I tried to take into account the comments, by pauljs75 and Eckie about the ears. I'have made the the fronthead smaller.
What do you tink?

The chin should reach lower. The lips should wrap around teeth more noticeably. The ear cartilage is too thin and still doesn't curl right.

the face looks a bit flat. if this is a white woman, then the face needs to be more round. also, the lips look like they are placed on the face rather than an organic part of the face. For the eyes, try to model the eyelids around the eyeball. right now it doesn't look very natural. like the cheek bone goes right up to the eye.
