Is there a undo key for selecting edges in AutoUV not in the general Wings 3d program? Everytime I select something wrong I have to start over again because the program would not allow me to undo my selection....

Once you have unfolded your object and select LMB-continue in the AutoUV segmenting, just safe your file and the selections will be saved.

Hope this helped.

well the thing is after you press unfold, the window turns into an UV editor and you cannot go back to the previous 3d model anymore.

I find what works for me is to predefine all my cuts before going to UV mode by using hard edges. That way you can save what you've done and go back and change it as many times as you like.
Basically when you go into UV mode just say "select - by - hard edges" and then say "mark for cut" and "continue unfolding". Mind you, you can learn a lot more from looking at DaGor's thread below..

Also as an aside it is possible to delete an remap existing uv's with the right button menu as well.

Along the lines of Stutz Jr.'s suggestion - you may want to define your UV cuts (edges) in the main geometry window prior to doing the AutoUV. One difference I would suggest. Instead of relying on hard edges, I use stored groups.

Select the edges you want to UV cut - (menu) Select - New Group

I normally name it something like 'uvcuts'. You can then use the 'Add to group' and 'Select group' menu items to work with it. The difference between this and the 'hard edges' approach is that if you actually USE hard edges in your model, you don't have to worry about which ones are there for modeling, and which ones you put in for UV cutting. The selections save with the file, so you can get them back without needing to save a special 'marked for UV cutting' version.

Once inside the AutoUV window, you can just recall the selection and select to mark the edges for cutting.

Hi guys, I tried to hard edges technique and it worked great! I have also tried the group method but that seem to be problematic since you don't have different colored edges like you do with hard edges but I'm sure I will be able to eventually configure that. But anyways thanks alot for your help!

Thnaks 86.5 that's a good idea.. Only reason I use hard edges is becasue I'm too lazy to learn how to use groups - although I have to agree the different color makes it easier to visualise. I usually save a separate version of my model when I play with UV tests anyway.

I think that's gonna save me a lot of time and trouble in the future. Thank you!
