Hello all, I've been registered here for over a year, but have never posted anything, simply because, all of the amazing work here puts mine to shame. Anyways, this is my first original character. Modelled in wings, Rendered in Max7. Comments welcome

The celshading makes it hard to crit, but it looks good so far.

Im thinking of changing the goggles, because right now he's looking similar to Beat, the main character of Jet Set Radio. What do you guys think?

I cannot comment on that, since I don't know the original character, but I can say that your character is rather cool and very original. :D

Keep it up.

Thanks for your kind words, but I went ahead and changed the goggles. Reason being, I'm using this guy in an online comic, and Beat will more than likely be in it, and they looked very similar, so the reader might get confused. New goggles and headphone shots below.

Well, since no one seems to be saying anything, I guess I'll post another character I'm working on. This one isnt original, which should be painfully obvious if you've played Jet Set Radio Future. I present to you, Yo-Yo.

The hair would probably look better done with alphamapped onesided polygon, and I am not a big fan of that drawn on mouth.

Unfortunately, since the comic will be cel-shaded, it kinda rules out the alphamapping the one-sided poly, since the outline goes around the polygon itself, and not the texture, that would put a box around the hair strand, and that just wouldnt look right. Plus, I don't know how to do it anyways:D . And for the mouth, I don't see the point of making the mouth geometrically, when that close up is as close as the comics gonna get to their faces, and Im no good at morphing mouths. I'm confident that the textured on mouth will be able to express emotions pretty effectively. Sorry if it seems like I'm snapping on ya.
