Im stuck in this mode

I was hidding a part of my head, then unhid the rest of my mesh and this purple mask came on

How do you delected this mask ?

Just step down some levels until it vanishes. You can then select other parts(or none) and subdivide those(or everything).

Also, you can turn off that green 'thing' from the preferences menu.
Its called Freeze Inactive on/off.

Thought I'd mention it.
